Mallacoota and it's environs would rank as one of the most beautiful and pristine places on earth. Unfortunately most of its rain forests and wild-life were destroyed by a Bush Fire on the 31st December 2019. Nevertheless like most of the Australian Flora and Fauna it will recover in time.

Over the last few years The Mallacoota Fundraising Group have been capturing the beauty of that place in print and presenting them to the world as Pictorial Calendars.

Your Contributions

In the last 6 years of sales from our Mallacoota Fundraising Group calendars, Dr Mubashar Sherazi’s book “The day Mallacoota turned red” and the amazing generosity of people locally, throughout Australia and worldwide a total of…….. $443,627.04 was raised which has now been donated to the Mallacoota - Ambulance, Fire Brigade, SES, Medical Clinic & Wildlife.

This money has enabled us, on your behalf, to purchase a new 4WD vehicle for our Fire Brigade, another 4WD for the SES, 10 x defibrillator's, automatic CPR machine, resuscitation mannequins, sleep study machine & complete state of the art communications system just to name a few.

Because of your generosity, Mallacoota is now a much safer place for locals & tourists alike……Thank you!

Thank you to everyone for your kind words & encouragement & the money that you have donated to this worthy cause.
We will continue to bring you beautiful images of this Wonderful and Magical place
(For as long as we can)

How is the Date of Easter Calculated

Easter is calculated not by a date on a Calendar but by the movement of the earth and the phase of the moon.

Easter is always the Sunday following (or on) the Full Moon after the 1st equinox of the Christian Calendar Year.

There are 2 Equinoxes - The 1st is around 21st March and the second is around 21st September

The Equinox is when the sun is directly overhead at the equator and all of the earth has equal 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours darkness - therefore the word EQUINOX.

So for example if the equinox is on the 21st March and is a Monday and the Full Moon is on Wednesday 23rd March. Good Friday will be on Friday 25th March and Easter Sunday will be March 27th.

The earliest Easter can be is the 22nd March (This will occur in the year 2285 - 467 Years in the future) and the latest it can be is the 25th April (This will happen in the year 2038).

Researched and Presented by Karl Rapson.

A bit more useless information... The Northern Solstice is when the sun is directly overhead at the Tropic of Cancer (Center of Mexico and the Sahara Desert) on or around 21st June. This is the Longest day in the Northern Hemisphere and the shortest day in the Southern Hemisphere.

The Southern Solstice is when the sun is directly overhead at the tropic of Capricorn (just north of Rockhampton Australia and the southern tip of Madagascar) on or around 21st December. This is the Longest day in the Southern Hemisphere and the shortest day in the Northern Hemisphere.

The Celts celebrate this day as the returning of the Sun.
